The Spice Behind Our Passion

From Chef Geoffrey Michael’s kitchen to yours - our quality journey

Rooted in Culinary Excellence

At Chef Geoffrey Michael Products, our story is a testament to the life and passion of Chef Geoffrey Michael, a man whose culinary journey has shaped every product we create.  A Philadelphia native turned proud Texan, he honed his skills in some of the most prestigious kitchens in the country, earning a reputation for his masterful technique and innovative spirit.

From Legendary Kitchens to Your Table

His early career was a remarkable tour de force. Raised in the family business at Atlantic City’s Knife & Fork Inn, his passion for cooking led him to the prestigious kitchens of New York’s Plaza Hotel, becoming the youngest banquet chef in the Plaza’s history, and later Executive Sous Chef.  His career soared through roles at the Waldorf Astoria, New York Hilton and serving as Executive Chef in the acclaimed Royal Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, earning multiple awards.  His time in these legendary kitchens laid the foundation for the unique blends and exceptional quality that define our brand today.

A New Chapter in Texas

From the Big City to the Heart of Texas

In 1975 Chef Geoffrey sought a new challenge, moving to Waco, Texas, where he brought his unique culinary artistry to the heart of the Lone Star State.  He opened a nostalgic restaurant, the iconic Water Works, where his Spicet and Gabrielle seasonings were born.

A Beloved Television Personality

Chef Geoffrey quickly became a beloved television personality, sharing his cooking skills and personal warmth with thousands of viewers across Central Texas.  After Water Works, his journey continued along the Brazos River, where he found inspiration and a new home for his operations at the Brazos Queen II River Boat restaurant, further solidifying his connection to the Central Texas community he called his home.

After personal challenges, including leukemia and the death of his daughter, he retired with his wife Marcia to their China Spring homestead on the Brazos.  Following his passing in 2020, Marcia continues his culinary legacy through Chef Geoffrey Michael Products, sharing his seasonings with the world.
